Horseback is a great way to explore France's coast and countryside, and there are horse riding centres close to several Siblu holiday villages, with Siblu park La Pignade offering its own centre on site.

With many of our Siblu parks in France located on the coast, you'll discover some fabulous hacks for all beginner, intermediate and advanced horse riders. Trekking through the woodland, down to the coast with the option of a gallop along the seafront and the water, it's a magical experience. If you want to do horse riding or pony trekking on holiday, you'll mainly be offered the option of hacking (as opposed to lessons in an enclosure), with one-, two- or even three-hour riding options, generally first thing in the morning or early evening. 

Best locations for horse riding in France

You can be pretty sure that there will be a horse riding equestrian centre in most parts of France, close to many of our Siblu holiday parks. It's a very popular pastime and sport in France, popular with all ages and people of all backgrounds. We've highlighted below the Siblu parks we recommend for staying at if you want to do some horse riding and pony trekking on your holiday. But whether you are staying in Brittany, the west coast or down on the south coast on the Med, there will be a horse riding centre nearby where you can book a ride.

Horse riding in France with children

Many of these horse riding centres in France will be geared up for pony trekking with younger children. If your child is an intermediate or advanced rider then they will probably want to join the adults on a longer hack. If you have younger children with no experience, you'll probably go on a guided hack, where you will be leading the pony on foot whilst your child rides. At our Siblu park La Pignade, you can hire a pony directly at the site for walks around the local woodland, it's very scenic and relaxing. 

Holiday parks for horse riding

• La Pignade in the Charente Maritime (west coast of France) has it's own riding centre on site where you can hire ponies for children or horses for longer hacks. 
• Domaine de Litteau, in Normandy, is 15 minutes from the well respected Haras de Louveaux horse riding centre 
• Les Pierres Couchées in Loire Atlantique is home to Les Ecuries de St Brévin, an equestrian centre for guests with all levels of experience. Riders can follow the many woodland trails or head to the beach
• Le Bois Masson and Le Bois Dormant are much-loved holiday villages in the Vendée are only a few minutes from the fantastic horse clubs of Saint-Jean-de-Monts
• La Carabasse in Languedoc is close to Ranch Fumat, which offers horseback treks along the Canal du Midi
• At Lac des Rêves, in Languedoc, horse and pony rides are available at the fabulous Saint Pierre horse riding centre, just 15 minutes from the park, and at Abrivado Ranch at Grau du Roi, just 35 minutes drive 
• Les Rives de Condrieu in the Rhône Alps is a great choice for active families, and the De Condrieu horse riding centre is just 10 minutes away
