Theme parks in West Coast France

Luna Park at Mathes is a great big fairground with rides galore – just half a mile away from Les Charmettes holiday village and 7 miles from La Pignade. But if your little monkeys are more active, they could visit Bonobo Parc in Quimper, southern Brittany, where they can climb through trees or on inflatables to their heart’s content.

If you’re staying at Le Bois Masson or Le Bois Dormant campsites, you’re just over an hour’s drive from a theme park that’s been voted one of the best in the world: Le Puy du Fou, with its historical re-enactments and spectacular shows. In a similar vein, you can visit Festyland, with rides and attractions on the theme of Vikings, near Le Domaine de Litteau campsite.

Theme Parks in the Loire Valley

Disneyland Paris – which needs no introduction to kids (big and small) – is just two hours away from our Le Domaine de Dugny holiday village, so a perfect stop-off if you’re driving in from the ferry. But for those more fascinated by the future than fairytales, Futuroscope, with its multimedia, giant robots and time machine (!), is just one and a half hour’s away near Poitiers.

If you want to see as many castles as possible in the Loire but haven’t the time or energy, Mini Châteaux Park has 41 miniature identical reproductions in a magnificent garden 30 minutes from Le Domaine de Dugny. You can also visit Le Family Park – also half an hour away – with its water attractions, blow-up structures, go-karting and a circus.

Theme Parks in the South of France

Walibi is the largest theme park of the Rhone-Alpes region and conveniently situated near our Les Rives de Condrieu campsite, with lots of splashy rides for children of all ages.

Further west, the farmyard-themed Parc de La Coccinelle, where kids can pet and feed lambs, calves and piglets, as well as enjoy rides and slides, is just 40 minutes from La Réserve campsite in Aquitaine. And if you’re at Le Lac des Rêves or La Carabasse holiday park in Languedoc, you’re just 2 miles from Aqualand Cap d’Agde, where bigger kids (and mum and dad) can slide down the Niagara, the Skyrocket or the Black Hole water chutes, while toddlers play in ankle-deep water nearby.
