Ferry Deals
Bringing your car for a self-catering holiday to France can make a lot of sense. You can pack lots more than travelling on a plane, so you can include games and sport equipment, favourite pillows and duvets, and foods that might cost more in France (tea bags and gravy come to mind!).
Here are the latest prices from the leading operators, based on a family of four travelling with a standard car, departing on 17 August and returning on 24 August. Follow the link to visit the operator to check prices and book.
- Dover to Calais: from £270 with P&O Ferries
- Portsmouth to Caen: from £541 with Brittany Ferries, based on their Early Bird option.
- Portsmouth to St Malo: from £741 with Brittany Ferries, based on their Early Bird option and including reserved seats.
- Plymouth to Roscoff: from £841 with Brittany Ferries, based on their Early Bird option for an overnight crossing on 16 August and including reserved seats on the outbound crossing and an inbound cabin on the return.
Flight Deals
Flying is usually the quickest way of reach the west and south coasts of France, although you’ll need to hire a car at the other end. Here’s our guide to prices for departures from the UK to a whole host of airports across France. Each is a per person price departing on 17 August and returning on 24 August. Please bear in mind that luggage and reserved seats might be extra, and prices will vary on different dates. We’ve also picked the ‘best’ flight price, which means we might have ignored flights that have very early or late flight times. Check Skyscanner.net to compare latest live prices and to book.
