Looking to add something a little different to the itinerary for your family trip to France? Why not consider visiting one of the country’s many high-quality theme/adventure parks! From the huge historical performances at Puy du Fou to the unmissable magic of Disneyland Paris, there’s something for everyone. Here are four of our favourites…

1/ Le Puy du Fou, Les Epesses

Puy du Fou might be the greatest theme park you’ve never heard of. This Vendée park is not particularly well-known in the UK, but it’s actually the second most popular theme park in France after Disneyland Paris… and with good reason. Le Puy du Fou doesn’t have the classic roller-coasters and rides you might be expecting: instead it you’ll find yourself thrown into a larger-than-life time travel experience! The attractions here consist of an explosive mixture of the best of historical re-enactment, special effects, fantasy and illusion. Don’t miss out on the chance to witness a Viking raid, experience the intriguing ‘dance of the phantom birds’ or take part in the fantastic evening spectacle ‘the Cinescenie’. The sheer scale of the attractions is what makes this park so impressive and such a memorable day out for family members of all ages.

  • Nearest Siblu Villages: Le Puy du Fou is only one and a half hours drive away from two Siblu villages, Le Bois Dormant and Le Bois Masson, making this the perfect place for a day trip during your holiday.

2/Futuroscope, near Poitiers

Like Puy du Fou, Futuroscope in Poitiers is not your average theme park. Here, as the name suggests, the focus is on invention, innovation and discovery. Alongside more traditional rides are the main attractions where ingenious technology such as 4D and virtual reality will transport you to a variety of different worlds: fly like a bird, race with the pros, dance with robots or experience life in outer space! Definitely well worth a visit to as part of your stay on France’s west coast…

    • Nearest Siblu Villages: Two of our west coast parks, Les Charmettes and La Pignade, are under two hours’ drive from Futuroscope.

3/ Disneyland Paris, Marne la Vallée

Our list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Europe’s most-visited theme park, Disneyland Paris. Modelled on the infamous Disneyland in the United States, the European version has been sharing its magic with visitors for over 25 years. Conveniently situated only 20 miles east of the centre of Paris, it consists of the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park. With a range of rides for thrill-seeking older kids, exclusive behind-the-scenes insight for movie buffs and the chance for younger fans to meet and greet all their favourite characters in the flesh, the Disneyland experience has something for everyone!

      • Nearest Siblu Village:  Domaine de Dugny in the Loire Valley is 2 hours and 45 minutes’ drive away from Disneyland Paris. It’s doable as a day trip or if you are travelling to the campsite by car you might choose to make a ‘Disney stop’ on your way there or back. Your kids might even notice some similarities between the fantasy Disneyland castles and the real-life chateaux of the Loire Valley not far from Domaine de Dugny…

        4/Aqualand, various locations

In the heat of summer, a day spent splashing around in a waterpark might be exactly what you’re after. Aqualand has a series of waterparks all over south France, which offer a range of slides, flumes and fun. Here are some of the Aqualand parks which are easy to reach from Siblu villages:

        • Le Montourey is a mere 10 minute drive from Fréjus Aqualand
        • La Carabasse and Les Sables du Midi are both approximately 20 minutes from the original Cap d’Agde Aqualand
        • La Réserve- 40 minutes’ drive from Aqualand at Gujan Mestras
