THEME PARK FUN WITH SIBLU
Rather than battling to entertain your children during their May school holidays and struggling to generate a stream of exciting ideas to inspire them, why not channel their energy into enjoying a theme parc break to France with holiday-parc specialist siblu?
If you’re tired of the Disney experience, then Puy du Fou near Nantes provides a blood-thirsty window into the Roman past, and Poitier’s Futuroscope is an all-action adrenalin rush for adventurous families.
Grand Parc Puy du Fou
The Grand Parc Puy du Fou is a shrine to the Middle Ages, with a Medieval City, Gladiator Stadium — a replica of the Colosseum — and Viking Fortress among the attractions to explore.
However the highlight is the night-time light show in the grounds of Puy du Fou, simply called Le Spectacle. The event, originally provided by volunteers from the local community, is now billed as the world’s biggest of its kind.
There are two siblu parcs within a short drive of Grand Parc Puy du Fou. Accommodation at Le Bois Masson and Le Bois Dormant, near the coastal resort of St Jean de Monts, starts from as little as £514 for two adults and up to three children staying for seven-nights in holiday home accommodation. Price includes Dover-Calais ferry travel, and is based on 26 May departures.
Tickets for Puy du Fou start from just €25 for adults and €15 for children.

Futuroscope
Futuroscope uses sound and images to create a whirlwind of emotions and activity for visitors. The parc is built around a series of giant cinemas that broadcast awe-inspiring films to astound viewers. Highlights include a birds-eye view of the world, where even the cinema floor is used as a screen to leave you looking down on the earth, and a place in the dingy of an adventurous group exploring the rivers of Africa.
There are many other attractions, including giant robot arms that dance with their occupants, and a light show blasted onto water.
Siblu’s Les Charmettes and La Pignade holiday parcs are located on the nearby west coast. A seven-night stay at either four-star parc starts from £493 for two adults and three children staying in holiday home accommodation. The price includes Dover-Calais ferry travel and is based on a seven-night stay departing 26 May.
Tickets for Futuroscope start from €33 for adults and €24 for children.
